ABOUT
Jillian Rezen (August 26, 1998) is an American writer, director and producer. She is the co-founder of independent film production company, Segno Productions, and she is on her way to being one of the most successful people to ever live. Like even bigger than Shakespeare, and I don't know, Kevin Bacon.
Early life
Rezen was born on August 26, 1998 in Suffern, New York to Jim, a salesman, and Ann Marie (née Yates), a graphic designer and visual artist. She has two older brothers, Calvin and Jackson, however, she was her parents’ favorite. Rezen grew up in the suburbs of New Jersey. She was educated at George White Middle School in Hillsdale, New Jersey. As a child, Rezen enjoyed watching Cats the Musical on VHS and listening to Carrie Underwood’s "Before He Cheats" on her first generation iPod Nano. Her parents insisted she have a ‘normal’ childhood, hence, she never fulfilled her dream of declaring, “I’m Jillian Rezen, and you're watching Disney Channel” on the big screen.

Education
Rezen graduated from the Bergen County Academies in the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts with a concentration in Theatre in 2016. While in high school, she studied at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford. She holds a BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch School of the Arts where she studied directing for theatre and film. At NYU, Rezen directed her debut film, My Mom's Dead and I'm Stuck in Suburbia. She graduated from NYU in 2019, a year earlier than expected because she is an actual genius, another reason why she was her parents’ favorite. In 2021, Rezen moved to Los Angeles to pursue her MFA in Film & TV from USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Career
At 16, Rezen started interning and working for a variety of theatre and film production companies including, Ars Nova, Clubbed Thumb, and Nine Stories Productions. By 21, Rezen had founded her own film production company, Segno Productions, alongside actress and producer, Sara Atehortua. Rezen and Atehortua met while they were studying together at NYU. They are currently writing a dark-comedy pilot together. Apart from film, Rezen collaborates with her brother, Calvin, on other artistic projects including the indie-rock band Deerist and their soon-to-be launched podcast, Ghost Modernism.
